Everything you need to know to get the most out of From Dust to Rust ZA
There are three ways to connect:
F1 in Rust to open the console, then type: client.connect 156.38.153.242:10010156.38.153.242:10010When you first join From Dust to Rust ZA you automatically receive:
Type /shop to open the shop and spend your starting coins!
Press F1 in game to open the console and type:
bind b backpack
This binds the B key to open your backpack. You can use any key you like — just replace b with your preferred key. This binding saves permanently on your PC.
There are several ways to earn coins on the server:
/refer yournameType /shop in chat to open the shop UI. You'll see 4 categories:
Click a category on the left sidebar to switch between them. Green "Buy" buttons mean you can afford the item. Your coin balance shows in the top right corner.
Type /balance in chat to see your current coin balance. You can also see it in the top right corner when the shop is open.
Type /shop and navigate to the Tools category. The Recycler costs 800 coins. When you buy it, it's added directly to your inventory and you can place it anywhere in your base.
Alternatively, you can craft one yourself using /recycler.craft — this uses scrap, metal fragments, HQ metal and gears instead of coins.
Stand where you want your home to be (ideally on a foundation in your base) and type:
/sethome mybase
Replace mybase with any name you like. You can set multiple homes. To teleport back type:
/home mybase
To see all your homes: /home list
To remove a home: /home remove mybase
Send a teleport request to another player:
/tpr PlayerName
The other player then types /tpa to accept. If they don't respond in time the request expires. To cancel a pending request type /tpc.
Simply type in chat:
/outpost — Teleport to the Outpost safe zone/bandit — Teleport to Bandit CampThere is a cooldown between teleports. Type /tpinfo to see your current limits and cooldowns.
Type /remove in chat, then look at the structure you want to remove and left click. The structure will be removed and materials returned to you.
You can also use a hammer normally in the building menu to demolish within the 10-minute placement window.
Yes! The Structure Refund plugin gives you back the materials from the previous tier when you upgrade a structure. So upgrading from wood to stone gives you your wood back. This applies to all tiers and materials.
Type /tree in chat to open the Tree Planter menu. You'll see all available tree types and their costs in scrap.
Or type /tree american-beech-a to buy and immediately plant a specific tree type at your feet.
Trees cost 5-15 scrap each. Once planted they grow over time and can be chopped down by you or your team members for wood.
Type /balloon to spawn a hot air balloon at your position. A control HUD will appear on screen with speed controls and direction buttons.
/noballoon to remove itTwo players can ride together — the horse seat plugin also works on the balloon!
Get in your minicopter and type one of these commands:
/trail fire — Fire trail/trail firework — Firework trail/trail pink — Pink trailType /trail to toggle the trail on or off. You can also set 1-3 trails using /trail 2 for double trails.
During night time, type /voteday to cast your vote to skip the night. When enough players vote (30% of online players), the time will jump to morning automatically.
Admins can force skip night anytime using /nightvote.
Use /me action in chat to express yourself in third person. Examples:
/me waves at everyone → PlayerName waves at everyone/me slaps Bennie with a wet fish → PlayerName slaps Bennie with a wet fishYou can also use emoticons in normal chat and they'll convert automatically:
